Helping others:
I taught both conformation classes and obedience classes at Paws-a-bilities and also at several community centers. I must have
been a good teach as many of my students took Best Of Breeds, and a couple even took BISS.
I have helped clubs put on shows by putting up and taking down rings, and taking in show applications and running other errands.
I even judged at a large match once. I judged collies, Doberman pinschers and Shetland sheepdogs. See photo. Believe me I never want
to do that again. At the end of the day nobody likes you but the winners. And you are all warn out!! I have much respect for judges.
I had forty shelties to judge that day, and boy did I learn a lot. Mainly, every dog has its faults, many faults, and only the judge
knows what most of them are. So next time you think the judge put up the wrong dog remember this, there is a lot you are not seeing,
because you are not the one feeling what is beneath all that coat.
